Hello fellows.
I've uploaded two new photo's in my "Rusty's Tracks" album.
http://ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/browse/1e44
"We're somewhere south of Centrallia, Illinois and there's a storm a-brewin'
out west. There's a schedule to keep and with luck, we'll be safely clear of
the area before it hits." -Rusty Traque
This is a before and after exercise in going "beyond the basement." The E8's
are of course American Models. The AM smooth side IC passenger cars were a
special run done for Scenery Unlimited quite some time ago.
The photo itself was manipulated using Microsoft Paint (a LOT of painting,
erasing, deleting, cutting and pasting) and MGI PhotoSuite, which is a very
basic photo editor that came with my old digital camera. The sky is real, shot
from a bedroom window as a storm passed to the south of town. The only thing
it needed was to be flipped left to right. The headlight glow and field on the
right are cut from photo's snagged from the web.
The most difficult part of the process was painting out individual pixels at
the transitions from one photo to another. I guess it took me a little over
two hours to make the final composite.
