My experience with having decals made for S was
that I usually needed to have 50 sets made and
the associated cost was high. Then 10 people would
buy 15 sets and I would be stuck with 35 sets. So I had
to set my price so that the price of 15 sets would pay
for the 50 sets. Any sold after that would be profit.
I still have some of them after 20 years!

The problem with any set, is the artwork.

If you add the time it takes to research the artwork,
and then create the artwork...
then the decal cost needs to go wayyyy up.

Does Rail Graphics sell sets?
(I have not checked lately.)

They used to do YOUR artwork.... if you had it.

So if someone wants Southern or Seaboard decals....or Maine Central.

Where is the artwork? It needs to be larger than the final product,
not just an old set from Enhorning or some other company

If you find someone who has your roadname.... talk to them.
Be willing to buy a lot of sets, to get just the few you really want.

So....... take a look at the Herald King catalog....
and hopefully you can find something you want.

HK may be willing to take the risk in producing their sets for S.....
but if only 10 sets are sold in their first offerings....
they may change their mind that it isn't worth their time or money.

So everyone.. please support this resurrection!

just to mention 2, why is there so much bother about new decals? I can't
believe there are
hundreds of S scalers on the edge of their seats waiting for the particular set
(your name
here) wants. They're not all that expensive really. Give them a try. If more
than one of
you want the decals it's even cheaper. If no more than one of you want the
decals, a
commercial house would be nuts to produce them.
