I, like Fred Tolhurst, am also a Southern fan and I agree with him that the 
Southern F (and E) units are gorgeous.  I would also like to point out that no 
one has offered Southern units in the black tuxedo scheme.  No F's, no E's, no 
GP's, no SD's, no PA's, no RS3's, no switchers.  We have several options to 
buy locomotives in Southern green.  A lot of us are more familiar with the 
Southern in the black units than the green.  I never would have seen (except as 
a 
very young child) any Southern units in the green if Graham Claytor had not 
repainted the E8s in green for the Southern Crescent and for excursion FP7s and 
steam locos.  I have to believe there is some pent-up demand for Southern F 
units in the black tuxedo scheme.
