Does anybody recognize the old Bettendorf-style freight trucks in the
picture I uploaded as "Mystery truck" in the Miscellaneous album in
Photos at Yahoo?

They came from the collection of a modeler who died about thirty years
ago, and I figure they date from about 1950. The sideframes are
attached to the bolster with screws, and they rock up and down like
those on a Rex truck.

Years ago Kent Singer wrote articles on freight and passenger trucks
for Ed's old magazine, so I sent the picture to him. Here's Kent's
response:

> I've seen these trucks before but never knew who made them. Could
> it be Strafford? I've seen listings for their trucks but never a
> marked package or even a picture.

Any ideas? It would be nice for me to know their story before putting
them back into revenue service on the Aransas Pass.
