It is Newcastle Central in NE England.   This junction was reputedly
the largest diamond crossing complex in the world at one time.   I
think the picture probably dates from the 1960s - the diesel with the
wasp stripe cab end wouldn't place it any earlier.   Today,  the
layout has been rationalised and is no longer anywhere near the
complexity shown in your picture.
