So sad to hear about another great model railroader passing, I feel fortunate 
to still be here as Lorell was younger than myself. 

Lorell Joiner was a very articulate, widely read and diverse person with 
serious interests in many things. Amongst them antiquities and Egyptology, 
armour and especially tanks, architecture and more things, as well as 
railroading. It was a real joy to meet and converse with him and have a few 
oportunities to "play" trains on his magnificent layout in San Antonio.
