Ed:
I have done these trucks in brass. Dave used a pair on a flatcar
he is building. I was going to try and put them on the open market but
realized that they would be too expensive. The AM, SHS, old
Northeastern, and Ace trucks are so cheap that it would just have
given me a headache to mess with them. Everybody seems to think that a
pair of trucks should cost no more than $10 or $15 WITH the wheel
sets! The NWSL wheelsets alone run about $10. The SHS & AM stuff from
China is so inexpensive for such impressive models. It's what keeps me
at my regular job full time. Going into the model business in my shop
is a real dumb idea!
I have no idea of who plans on copy casting them but the bolster
will shrink and you will only be able to use SHS wheel sets. They have
a short axle length. The alternative is to make a new pattern for the
bolster. Maybe, just maybe, the journals could be drilled deeper
