I want to add some minor details . . . . . . Where can I get a large frontal
view of an SD60 . . . . . . . . .

I had not exactly the same question, but a similar one when I decided to
have a professional install DCC in an AM SD60 for me. Mine was AM's Norfolk
Southern 6596 loco. One of his first questions was what kind of horn.
Apparently Soundtraxx has different sound decoders for several different
Nathan and Leslie horns, 3 chime and 5 chime. I got onto a diesel internet
discussion group, not on Yahoo but similar, and posed my question. After a
few speculative replies, someone said "Instead of guessing, look at
pictures," and cited

That picture (if you know your horns) resolved the question. It also shows
a lot that AM might prefer you not see. There are some not-so-subtle
differences between prototye and model. Maybe AM's version is based on a
previous paint scheme. But it's a good shot of the front of this loco. I
forwarded it to my DCC installer and he added the ditchlights too.

I also found a picture on Fallen Flags -
http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/ns/ns6596asb.jpg Chances are the SD60 of
your choice also has pictures on one or the other of these sites.

If you're really into trains you ought to have those two sites book-marked ,

"Fallen Flags" - http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/
and
"RR Picture Archives" - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/

In the interest of "full disclosure," FWIW, I'm an AM dealer. (But I don't
do mail-order.)
