I would suppose that IF I had built a layout over a period of time, starting
with what was available to me at the time, I might have had a similar
transgression. When I returned to "the hobby" in 1993, ALL I knew was Flyer, I
paid
a "wiley" dealer, in his shop, $99.00 for a pair of 720A's w/controller in the
OB ( I was a stranger, and he took me in). Had I used the Flyer track and
switches as a basis for a railroad at the time, I perchance would be less than
willing to remove # 5 Flyer switches to replace them with # 5 switches by
someone else, IF everything else was in place. I understand the quandry, I
sympathize, I wouldn't build that way today, altho, given the option of S-TRAX
( MY
preference), unfortunately the PVMR went with the old Flyer and roadbed for
the most practical of reasons, It was PAID for. I lost that discussion, BIG
TIME.

ALL THE BEST for the rest of the Holiday Season,

Jim Lyle
