While pretty much all track starts out at the same elevation, the periodic
addition of ballast and tamping make ramps an inescapable part of the
prototype. Even sidings on the mainline are often at different levels. I've
found that simple plain siding shingles make acceptable ramps. They are easy
to install and are in keeping with the slow speeds accompanying the correct use
of sidings and spurs.

Hi Guys,

Many moons ago I purchased some flex-track and turnouts from SHS. The
Turnouts came on a cork road bed and I assumed it could easily be
removed. Today I'm not so sure as I've made a start and stopped !!!

Questions !!! Do SHS make corkless tunouts ? If not what would the
groups recomendations be re a turnout to match SHS Track ? I don't want
to start building up acres of yard or creating ramps
