Hi All, The NCE decoders have the ability to run on DC and DCC. As Bob mentioned, it is a programming question that you answer yes or no to. There are no switches etc needed to go between them. If you had 2 tracks, 1 DC and the other DCC right next to each other, you could put them on either track and the engine will run. But they must be completely separated electrically. You cannot drive from a DC powered track to a DCC track.
Unless you are going to FREQUENTLY run on DC, you should leave that decoder option in the default which is OFF. My Rex B&O C16 Docksider took off on me because I originally had the DC option on. The changing of the DC option literally is about 1 minute on the programming track. Change this as you are about to go to the layout that is DC to run, then change it back when as soon as you get home.
