For all of you detail conscious modelers, I have posted downloadable scale license plates in HO, S and O scale in PDF form on my website. While most are for Colorado (1958), other years and states are also included. Although you can add numbers, the fonts and font colors are more generic in nature and not completely accurate. If the state you want to do had things like vertically stacked letters or numbers to indicate county (as Colorado did in 1958), you can't replicate this with the Acme plate maker. Since I wanted accurate lettering I scrounged around on eBay to find images of actual plates that were for sale. When I found ones that were suitable, I used and rearranged numbers to make plates with different numbers. Since I'm modeling Colorado, circa 1958, the preponderance of plates are for that year and state. Most of the rest are also 1958, but from other states. After all, tourism has always been big out here. You can certainly do the same thing I did if you want to do the work yourself...or you can benefit from my efforts, the choice is yours.
