The Black Beetle power trucks are fairly light-weight. Black Beetle places a
rather low weight limit on each truck for satisfactory operation -- I forget
what that is. If you use two (a must for a switcher), you can probably haul
about ten plastic cars or four metal ones. Adding weight to the loco for more
pulling power would probably overtax the motors.
Hirail wheels are not an option.
FYI, the ones I ordered have 36" wheels and an 8'-6" wheelbase. Quality is
similar to that of North Yard's diesel chassis -- simple yet well-engineered.
