The star of the show was not that yeller stuff (got my flame suit on
Arden <VBG>), but an SP SW Tsunami equipped 2-8-0. This was my latest
DCC sound project. It has a Bass Reflex speaker (self contained
speaker with port) in the boiler.
John and all,
What was the yeller stuff, perhaps Arden has a dog that wets on the
floor? Here in the frozen north, Dave Hamilton has been doing
installs with the Locsound and the bass reflecx speakers and they
sound great. If you carefully remove the structure inside the SHS
switcher shells that is not necessary (in modelrailroader talk, this
means gut the inside of the shell) you can sound equip even an SW1
and the sound is great. Dave has done installs in an amazing array
of motive power.
I didn't wade through the past weeks digests, I am sure someone in
the PPSSW will have a short summary at the next meeting. In today's
digest there is a note about putting long strings in a separate
place, I don't know the detail but in general, I like the idea.
Ignorance is bliss and I am staying blissful today.
