Have you been to Dollywood? I went there a couple of years ago and rode
their narrow gauge train pulled by a former Alaskan RR Mikado. In fact, I
rode on a special bench seat in the front of the tender. You have to line
up when they pull the train out and sign up for the tender ride. I even
have a DVD with the ride including the fireman stoking and shoveling the
coal in. It was a little warm, but I didn't care. IF you get there real
early, you can watch them servicing the engine and my brother and I toured
the shop. It was a trip to remember. The rest of the park is the usual
rides, etc. Makes me wish the Lionel Mikado had scale wheels, I'd have
one.

One more time,
I've traveled the US. quite extensivly over the years and yes I'm
bias toward Appalachia and coal trains, but having said that Eastern
Tennessee and its' environs are the only place I'd consider. No
disrespect to the rest of you guys but it all comes down to the overall
quality of your environment and the niegbours. You'll be hard pressed
to find better on both counts Peter !!!

of housing that I can afford. This is a quick note. I do check listings
every day and am excited about several of the properties.
