I have two sets of brass EMD sideframes that came with a power unit I
bought some years ago from Charlie Sandersfield (sp?, who was doing so
much for S before he passed away, for a Wabash Valley (ex-Enhorning)
body shell.

These, however, have holes behind the journals for brass bearings,
although the axles in the power unit did not protrude into them. They
also had a screw mount hole for use with American Models power trucks,
but they took careful mounting to prevent shorting problems. I have
since replaced them with ABS sideframes from AM. I later traded the
power unit for an AM unit.

Doesn't BTS still offer brass EMD sideframes?

I, too, have a set of the Enhorning sprung journal boxes. The
superiority in tracking ability, traction and electrical pickup of a
sprung and equalized, or at least equalized, power truck over a rigid
one is almost beyond comprehension.
