I just got a reply from Frank Sergent, himnself about his S scale couplers... 
and here it is (quoted verbatim) :



Hi John,



No. I'm not giving up on S scale. It has been a long time since I have

         even had the S scale couplers in stock though. The equipment used

         to manufacture them is not even in operational order now. I figured it

         was best to take them off the website until I have a real product to 
offer

         again. The new tooling on the HO side should allow be to dedicate more

         time to new product development. From here out, I expect anything new

         will be diecast, and we have made some significant advances in that 
area.

         I think the S scale folks will benefit from that eventually.
