List,
Down in the basement beneath a layer of fresh sawdust, I have amassed
a nice stockpile of parts for fabricating six S modules that are 6'
long and 3' feet deep. (I wanted to maximize the size of the modules
without exceeding what I could haul in my minivan.) My intent is to
use them to create a 36' long portable layout that interfaces with S-
Mod modules on either end.
My question is, in real-world practice, how stringently applied is
the recommended track centerline setback for S modules? I plan to
maintain a straight double track down the length of the layout, but I
would prefer to have more space between the main lines and the front
of the module. Basically, if 2' deep modules were placed on either
side, the backs of the modules would be in alignment, and the front
of my layout would stick out 1'. In real life, would this exclude me
from participating in events?
Best regards,
Stan Maddox
