I posted some photos of an AM obs with Evergreen styrene simulated corrugated
sides and a JC Models (Chester to some) coach modified as a Rock Island chair
car. Both were built 20 years ago so are badly in need a of a major shopping!
"Memphis" and "Amarillo" were cars in Rock Island's "Choctaw Rocket" that ran
(interestingly enough) from Memphis to Amarillo. The train consisted of 4
cars: a modernized heavyweight RPO, a chair car, a sleeper and the obs.
Originally the train was pulled by one of CRI&P's rather unique "TA" diesels
but later it rated a single E6a. That seemed about the right size for an S
scale passenger train when I started it, every piece is done except the
sleeper...

Chuck West took the great photos, his photography makes even my adequate
modeling look fairly decent! When I built the cars I did some interior detail
on the obs, I think using HO and scratch built parts... Been so long I don't
exactly remember. "Amarillo" is an example of a JC kit with 0.005 styrene
stretched over the roof. I recall using crazy glue on the roof because it
seemed the least likely to deform the thin styrene.

Anyway, if you model for effect this is a reasonable option...
