Do you think these cars, or ones similar to them, are likely to be available
in S scale anytime soon? I sure would like to have some. These moving cars
could make layouts seem more real than anything else I can think of that we
do not already have.

Do you think there is anything we as S scalers can do to increase the
chances that these vehicles would be produced for S ?

Folks, I don't normally follow posts that appear to be off topic, but
this one has proven to be a worthwhile exception. Don't blow past
this because it isn't S per se, because it may give you some valuable
ideas for your own modeling. This is amazing video of HO scale radio-
controlled vehicles with working throttles, steer axles, headlights,
turn signals, emergency flashers, backup lights that automatically
come on when the vehicle backs up, etc. We should be thinking of ways
to incorporate some of these features into our modeling. If they can
shoehorn all of that radio-controlled functionality into something no
bigger than a Hot Wheels car, what could be done in the bigger space
afforded by an S scale model? Food for thought.

The video is in German, but please watch it all the way through
anyway. The pictures are self-explanatory and I got a lot out of it.
There are some shots of the hobbyists in their workshops, and their
tools and methods should look very familiar to anyone who models in
S. I am sitting here in stunned admiration. A tip of the hat to these
folks. Thanks for sharing, Gale.

Best regards,
