Hello

I have to admit I like the cabinet idea. I'm doing something similar, except
in my case I've been building some basic bookcases out of 3/4 Birch Plywood.
I'm currently attaching brackets to raise the railroad about 6" up over the top
of said bookcases (in part for kit storage and in part so I don't break my back
trying to bend over to work on stuff or lift up the layout sections to work on
the wiring). I *WANTED* to attach my benchwork to the wall, but NOOOOO, I live
in an apartment building with steel stud walls which are, to put it mildly, NOT
suitable for attaching ANY kind of benchwork to. ;)

Sorry, pet peeve there. We have three other peeves named Skitty, Winslow, and
Wesley (cats). Thus far, I'm working on a heavy electric traction line
(freelanced) set over a historically INaccurate version of the old Minnesota
Western's main line. Speaking of which, when is one of the S scale
manufacturers going to make an S scale Fairbanks Morse H10-44 or H12-44
switcher? *begs*

I will be handlaying track more due to financial restraints than anything else.
I've already got the rail, the ties, three #8 switches (old Pullmans but
they'll work - I'm in the market for more if anyone has some code 100 Pullman
switches for sale?), and some Homabed, so there's little initial outlay for
materials.

Before anyone asks, NO, I do NOT have an American Models GG1. Yet. I've
bought some parts and have started working on... well... I'll post pictures
when I finish it, and hopefully it will look okay and run the same. The fun
part will be figuring out how to make a chassis. :)
