Dear S Scale Modeling friends,
I'm pleased to announce that Dick Karnes will be Emceeing this years 2008 Yahoo
S Scale List Seminar.
(For those who didn't know. "Ole' Bill" is up for an operation this Friday.
Nothing major, [Surgery is always major I guess] but somewhere in the past
several months I developed a Hernia and and a Hydrosele. Both will be corrected
this Friday. I'm told to take it easy for several weeks, so that is why the
change.) But then who could have a better substitute than Dick Karnes, I'm so
pleased that Dick has volunteered to do this for me.
When; August 7th - Thursday evening 8:00 - 10:00 PM
Okay here is the format: (1) Dick will coordinate the individual introductions.
We would like each member in attendance to introduce themselves, talk about
their layouts and/or models. Also, they can talk about their wants and so on in
S Scale. This gives us a chance to meet and recognize members that we daily
deal with on the list. If you can, bring along photos and models of your
workmanship to share with the group.
Then our featured Seminar modelers will take over;
(1) Bob Werre will give a presentation on "Black and White photography." (Power
Point)
Bob [and many others] have noticed the poor quality prints in our magazines of
late and would like to help you do better.
This is a highly valued Seminar, especially if you are into photography!
(2) Dave Heine will then give a presentation on Narrow Gauge modeling. Dave
writes on Sn3 modeling in our DISPATCH.
Dave has a marvelous assembly of Sn3 models, many of which are brass and is
also very well read on Narrow gauge railroads. (Power Point)
Afterwards, as usual, there will be gift for each one of you attending; (1) A
2008 Fourth Year Commemorative card and guess what else? (2) Yes, a good old
Hershey Milk Chocolate Candy Bar. Hey, you don't think I would let you down do
you!
You should be able to view the Commemorative Card on Yahoo S List's main page.
I also want to thank Doug Peck and all the Bristol S Gaugers for automatically
setting aside the time for us at their 2008 NASG Convention. This is a new
happening, we do hope it will continue from now on. This proves that we have a
good thing going here, so take care, and have a great time!
Your "Yahoo S List Chair,"
Bill FRaley
