Several weeks ago there was a discussion of car turn around rates.
Recently, I puchased a December 1956 Central of Georgia 'The Right Way' that
discussed CAR TURN AROUND. I quote the following from p.15;
"Turnaround time in the railroad industry is the time that elapses between
loadings of a freight car. That is, the time from the spotting of a freight
car for loading until the car is spotted for the next loading. The average
turnaround time for all freight cars in the United States...(I assume 1956)...
is approximately 16 days.
Just thought I would pass this along to everyone.
