Hi All, Now that the NASG convention is the books, the next big S Scale gathering is the CJSS Get Together in about 5 weeks. Here is the official page for it http://www.nasg.org/cjss.html People come from as near as New Brunswick and as far as England to attend the event.
Here is my page for it http://www.lanestrains.com/CJSS.htm I have not missed the event once since first attending in 1987. I got engaged at the 2001 Get Together. (I will have a new version of the engagement video up this week with the corrected sound track) I will be supplying the NCE DCC again this year for the whole layout. I hope to have 2) 5 amp power regions installed by then so the whole layout does not die if there is a short. We ran 9 engines last year on 1) 5 amp booster on Sunday just before teardown started. The booster was warm but did not overload. I also have 1 new wireless ProCab handle. I hope to have at least 1 more wireless handle by that time. I will also have the first annual Memorial Running of Howie's Shay with an ON30 train I have assembled for it to pull. http://www.lanestrains.com/Howie.htm Most of you have not seen Howie's Shay. I only saw it once when the late Bill Daiker repaired the drive, painted it and delivered it to Howie at a Get Together. Howie ran it for about 5 minutes then put it back in the box. I doubt Howie it ever ran again and was not run until I bought it. Since we will have wireless maybe Howie can run it again..... I will run the Shay for a little while so all can see it. Operations will be interesting if you want to try and run another train following and around with the Shay creeping along. I hope to see you all there....
