Hi all; There are two files in the group "FILES" section, one called "new applicant" and one "reminder" which cover the group rules. No mention what so ever of sales posts being forbidden. The break from the original S Trains list was from the mass of AF repair/what's new from Flyonel and KLine posts.
I would say that an announcement of items for sale, with either a short list or indication of how to obtain a longer list (e-mail off-list or web site) should be acceptable to all. I have seen occasional issues on other groups where folks did not pay attention to the reply features and all sales negotiations went to the list (or every request for a long list ended up individually posted back for everyone to see...). As long as we avoid those situations I think we all welcome the occasional "For Sale" post. From time to time I have, however, purchased items from people on the list. Usually, they mention that they have something for sale and to contact them off list. Is this not a thing to do? Tom, The available Sgauge list has been around for at least a coupe of years now! I believe it started as a result of a number of members complaining about too much selling on this list. NCE has a similar setup for sales as they don't allow sales on their regular DCC list. There's been a flap going on about this over the past week. I commented about this maybe six months ago and met with several negative responses. My real concern was that dealers might take advantage of the list and overwhelm it with repeated sales. Perhaps this does happen but they get edited out by the moderator. Gary Chudzinski [EMAIL PROTECTED] Re: New eBay rules, count me out.
