Welcome to S scale, you not only have chosen the ideal modeling
scale but have now found what is probably the greatest bunch of people
in the hobby.
A note just to bring one small detail to your attention if you
decide to use the HO scale Kadee #5's on your PRS cars (or any others)
being that they are a tad too small for S, the coupled distance between
two cars is also less than scale which is typically 3' between the ends
of cars. I don't have two cars equipped with the #5's so I can't measure
that distance but it is somewhat less than 3'. Not trying to discourage
your choice just pointing out a detail that might or might not be
important to you.
