Howdy Friends

Interesting discussion on couplers.... my favorite is the American
Models' dummy coupler. It just looks good to my old eyes.

As for an operational coupler, I go with the Kadee 802. My logic for
choosing it over the HO years ago is that just about every detail on the
average model is oversized. Putting a coupler that is 10% undersized
conflicts visually with the larger details making the coupler seem even
smaller. To me, it just looks funny on modern standard gauge equipment.
(another dead horse discussion... 'modern' here refers to stuff after
1910 or so as I have spent a lot of time lately working on stuff from
1850-1890. The HO coupler does look pretty good on earlier stuff with
archbars and truss rods. ;-) )

Bottom line.... this, along with rail sizes, etc., is really a matter of
personal choice where anything is correct if it is what YOU like.

Back to gluing windows into the S Slatyfork Sawmill.... no silly
couplers needed there!!!

Take care
Bill
