Hi:
my query is about the SHS couplers and is in no way intended to restart the
coupler debate. during some recent housecleanning I unearthed my package of SHS
couplers and some other tidbits that will be the subject of a separate email.
Anyway I remember trying to install the SHS couplers on a freight car. It seems
easy enough except the screws are hardly any longer than the coupler box is
thick and didn't seem to get much purchase. I seem to recall in the tusami of
words in the coupler exchanges some reference to the size of screws the SHS
coupler uses thinking if I could get longer ones, then the couplers would be
quite usable.
does anyone recall what size or what do others do to keep them in place?
