Howdy Bill....Glad you liked the article and photos. It was fun
doing it and, as a result, MR has asked for another article. Yes,
they asked -- which I found rather amazing. Who says they won't
print S scale stuff? S content that is useful to all other scales
is the secret to getting published.

American Models would do a full page S Gauge ad in MRR?

companies and for the scale.
The main selling point that Kalmbach makes for MR advertising is that
the cost of the ad is cheaper PER READER than for the competition.
Yes, the ad is more expensive than others, but when the readership
numbers are factored in the ad is less expensive per reader. It all
depends on how you want to look at it. I do notice that Heimburger
and American Models almost always have small ads in the backmost
section. Been seeing those ads there for years now. I can only
assume the ads are worthwhile or else the ads would have been
cancelled long ago.
> Whose Number #4558 is that?
It is mine! Imported by Overland Models from Ajin back in the good
old daze when we actually thought Overland would be sticking with S
scale over the long haul. That didn't happen, but thanks to Jim &
Dan Overland was replaced with River Raisin Models. Probably better
to have RRM anyway since the quality increased and things ran better
after they arrived on the scene.

The room is 20'x30' and when the aisles are subtracted the actual
layout surface is 500 square feet. More images in GREAT MODEL
RAILROADS 2005 if you are interested.

Don't rush me, don't rush me......the layout is not finished yet.
However, in the mean time, TRACKS AHEAD will be releasing the next
series of shows in January 2009. Once released, you can buy a DVD of
them and you will note the mighty NYC is one full segment of one
program -- about ten minutes worth of fame. Broadcast
dates/schedules on PBS have not yet been established and won't be
until the programs are released from the Producer -- Milwaukee
Channel 10. Google TRACKS AHEAD to find their web site and inquire
about buying a DVD. Make contact in January because the programs
will not be released until then and you cannot buy anything until it
is released.
Allen Keller has been suggested before, but I'd like to get the
layout finished before contacting him. Give it another two years and
I will call him if he doesn't call me first.
Cheers....Ed L.
