Rusty,  You are correct.  As sometimes happens a manufacturer will be 
really proud of their product so they make every effort to make it look 
good for advertising and marketing needs.  So the folks who built that 
car painted it silver for the 'company' photo, which is the one 
everybody used and it became an urban/model myth.  After it's 15 minutes 
of fame it was painted solid black and simply had white stenciled 
lettering applied.

As far as I know,  we don't know who did the silver to black paint 
job--so just maybe the car was shipped to J & L before it was painted 
black, therefore you could run it correctly--but just once!
