My name is Bill & I just moved to Massena, NY. We had a new house
built in massena to be close to 2 of my sons @ 4 grand children.
The house is a ranch approx 59' long x 41' wide with a full heated &
air conditioned basement.
My layout is now in process. It is 16' wd x 32' lg x 32"wd. Is is
build on 1 1/2 thk blue foam board. The roadbed is 1/4" thk blue foam
board that I cut with a mat knife. I drew radius templates to scribe
the roadbed. The bed is 2" wd on track side & 2 1/2" wide on the bottom.
The basic layout will be double track with a 44" R on both loops. The
center of the layout will have a 24' lg island for a yard & service
facility. Track is Shinohara Code 100 purchased form Heimberder House.
I'm laying the 2 loops 1st then I will add Shinohara switches & sidings
when I think about what I want to project as a theme. This layout
takes up about 1/3rd of the basement, so there is plenty of room to
expand.
Again, after the loops are finished I will start mock-ups of structures
using Even's Design Software for modelers.
