Hi Ed --

I had to do a head to head competition to verify my thoughts.   The 2-10-2
(engine alone, no tender) is slightly heavier than a single F unit.   To
make up for the tender, I stuck a brass B&O wagontop boxcar with original
trucks in the train for the F to pull.

You win!   The F couldn't get the train out of the yard before it started to
gasp for traction.   Just thought your inquiring mind ought to know that I
did it all fair and square...

Now I will have to try it with the 2-8-4...

Bill....Lessee if'n I got this...the steamer has 25% more powered
wheels yet pulls 20% fewer cars. And they both weigh about the same.
Izat right? Now I ask you, how can that be?
