UPDATE :

I want to thank everyone who has voiced interest in a ticket for this train
ride to see a new, upgraded Sergent Engineering S scale coupler produced!
Quite a few more folks than I expected have come forward to support this
effort. A Excel spreadsheet has been started to log the interest; it will
be sent to Frank Sergent in the next week or two to show him the interest
that S scale has in his coupler. This train is about to leave the station,
so come on aboard now.

Below are some comparison photos showing the difference between the old and
the new Sergent HO couplers and the old S coupler. These photos clearly
show the VAST improvement in look and design of the old and the new (The
old HO version is an IDENTICAL match to the old S version). The NEW HO
version seen in the photos below is what can be expected in S if the new
coupler is produced :

1. www.trainweb.org/seaboard/MODELS/OldSergentSCoupler.jpg
This photo shows the OLD S scale Sergent coupler.

2. www.trainweb.org/seaboard/MODELS/OldSergentHOCoupler.jpg
This photo shows the OLD HO Sergent coupler.

3. www.trainweb.org/seaboard/MODELS/NewSergentHOCoupler.jpg
This photo shows the NEW HO Sergent coupler. This is what the NEW S
scale Sergent
     will most likely resemble.

4. www.trainweb.org/seaboard/MODELS/NewSergentHOCoupler00.jpg
This is another photo of the NEW HO coupler.

5. www.trainweb.org/seaboard/MODELS/NewSergentHOCoupler01.jpg
This is another photo of the NEW HO coupler showing its parts
disassembled to show
the MUCH improved design. This new design makes assembly almost
foolproof!
Also shown in this photo is the short-shanked, HO steam engine coupler
from Sergent.
(Locking ball for nuckles not shown in photo)

If you'd like to get involved and help support the project, please contact
me off-list at my e-mail address below and let me know how much support you
can give us.

Thanks in advance.
