Yes, I have built many real structures before. However, the buildings
I've been posting are mockups. This allows me to populate the layout
quickly.
For instance, the building flats, the station & eating house are part
of the town of Hogue Springs, a cattle town. All that is left to
complete this area of the layout is a blacksmith shop & a cattle pen.
You have to understand that all of these mock-ups were done in 3 days.
Can't do this with real models.
