I got an A & B in 1964. I am not sure which generation it was. It had
the vertical motor, aluminum wheelsets and the pulley arrangement. It
ran a few inches, then stopped. I don't think the worm and the gear
meshed properly.
Every time I looked at it, I found a few more useless parts to
discard. The humps in the bodies appeared years later. Today I have
only the truck springs left.
By the way, Enhorning ads for ready-to-run EMD F-7 A & B units first
appeared in Model Railroader magazine in 1950. That was nearly sixty
years ago! I wonder how those early models ran.

* * * Notice to travelers * * *
Should there be any misunderstanding between you and our Agents or
Conductors, will you kindly do as they say, take receipt for fares
paid and WRITE the GENERAL PASSENGER AGENT at San Antonio, giving full
particulars, and he will do his best to render entire satisfaction,
consistent with good business principles.
Don't think that our Agents or Conductors are trying to get the best
of you; they are only endeavoring to carry out their instructions as
best they can. You know that a Conductor is often placed under the
most trying circumstances. While his train is running he is frequently
called on to act in the capacity of a Judge, Lawyer, Arbitrator,
Pugilist, Walking Encyclopedia and NURSE. He must care for the women
and babies.
We try to get good men; it is hoped that you will find them so.
