The history of these matters is most interesting and raises another question: 
In 2002 I attend one day of the NASG convention at Strongville, Ohio.  While 
there I came across a table, absent its vendor, with all manner of metal or 
brass S-scale castings for box car ends and possibly sides--It was some years 
ago, and I cannot remember for sure--but the vendor was offering to sell the 
lot of them.

Does anyone from the list recall what I describe and know what happened to the 
castings or patterns.  They were heavy brass or metal patterns.
