Andrew,  There was a smallish company that made a kit to 'roll your own' 
corrugated pipe.  I bought it and it worked just fine.  I later made up 
a bunch of larger diameter pipe from scratch.  The basis is using 
corrugated sheet metal--Campbell or Triangle.  a simple wooden dowel is 
used to form the stuff.  You put the seam at the bottom and glue to 
timber spacers to make up the load.  Some Chartpack tape works for steel 
strapping.
