Good morning:
I am seeking plans for a pair of New Haven electric locomotives.
The EP-3 is the sire of the GG1 with the same 2-C+C-2 wheel arrangement.
It has a boxcab top with big porches on top of the lead trucks.
The EP-4 uses the same wheel arrangement. It is bidirectional and has
two GE streamlined cabs. (Much like and EMD E-7 through E9 or any F
Unit.)
What makes these better than GG1 is the placement of the pantograph. On
the GG1 it is on the end of the shell. With tight curves the pantograph
swings out so far it goes beyond the catenary. New Haven electrics
always place the pantographs over the 'primary pivot' trucks. The
result is pantograph is always centered over the rails and thus centered
under my catenary.
I am seeking plans or even a line drawing showing basic dimintions.
Thank you for your help,
Thorin
