Hi Bill;

I've used LEDs also purchased from a vendor on Ebay (probably the same one -
from Canada, eh?). They work fine with Rule 17 lighting. There is a CV setting
in most decoders to tell it that you are using LEDs instead of bulbs. This
determines the voltage change used for dimming the bulb/LED.

Hi All,

While I have been in DCC for about 4 years now, I have never tried anything
to do with LEDs. I just got a starter kit from someone that was selling on
eBay in the S category. I was pretty impressed with the light thrown from
them. It arrived at a perfect time. I am designing numberboards and a
lighting enclosure for my E8. (I am experimenting with clear RP for the
numberboards & windows. If it works out the possibilities with the clear
material are ENDLESS!) The thoughts of no heat and the LEDs will last
forever makes this the perfect first test.

I just wish the LEDs had insulated wires like light bulbs do. This makes
them seem delicate and awkward.

The seller thinks that the LEDs will work with the rule 17 lighting. Is this
true? I know it is not used much in real life, but I like it.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
