Lee, Thank you for the welcome! I'm a retiree (from the HR department of an electric utility, and the Air National Guard), and my wife and I recently relocated to Texas from Idaho to be close to our married daughters, who had also recently relocated here. Quite a climatic change, to say the least, but we like it so far. I had to dismantle my layout up there, which was an S scale 1939-era switching layout that was freelanced but based closely on northern Idaho shortlines of that era. My layout, including scenery, had been completed for some time, but I think it will be fun to start a new layout. My plan is to build another switching layout, again set in 1939, but this time set in a small Texas coast port. I'm still in the research stage, which is itself pretty enjoyable, and expect to start construction in January. I handlay my track, so it will be a long process!
