I guess it depends on what you enjoy about model railroading. Pulp Racks are
the bottom feeders of the railroad world. They are made cheaply because the
loads aren't worth a heck of a lot. Most of them were home made out of cars
that had outlived their usefulness for higher quality loads. There is no way a
Maine railroad would spend money on Southern pulp racks when they had plenty of
their own derelicts to convert, which they did. There is also no way it would
be profitable for pulpwood to be shipped from the south to a Maine pulp mill.
No offense meant. That's just the way it is. I am not a collector. I justify
every purchase I make based on need, just like the real railroads do. This
also is modeling railroads. There must be plenty of folks modeling southern
roads to make these kits profitable. You should consider yourselves lucky and
buy a bunch while you can. I would if they looked close to anything the Bangor
and
Aroostook used.

Gentkleman, Don't you think it would be something different on your layouts
except the same old worn out everyday junk.Throw some change in your layouts The
real railroads did. I think the pulpwood cars would be different and eye
catching. Thanks Bert Cutler

=================================================================Jim:Did these
cars ever go off-road (as in other places besides the Southern
Railroad)?Frankly, I am much more interested in purchasing your future offerings
of cars that saw wide distribution across the national rail system such as the
SR Waffle boxcar, B&O & SAL Round top cars.Just one person's opinion
of course.John GibsonRocklin, CA
