Gale...I would be concerned that the glue might not be healthy.  After 
all, think of how many hands at the Gov't. Printing Office and the Post 
Office might have already touched the backside of the stamp?  Maybe the 
glue vendor used melamine from China?  Possible allergic reaction?  
Tongue rash?  Gotta think these things through, y'know.  Don't want to 
take unnecessary risks.  When I finish the train layout, then I can 
consider stamps.  Would foreign stamps be heathier?  Maybe prestamped 
envelopes with pressure sensitive flaps would eliminate all licking?  
Then I could go back to glue sniffing and paint sniffing.  Cattle Car 
Brown paint smells the best.  Trust me on that one!
