I fully agree with Rusty on the gray or white under coat, it is a must...I
remember years ago in an article in Model Railroading there was a comment made
way into the article about Accura Paints having to be painted over white to
have the proper color hue....Also years ago I was told by several HOers they
always prepainted silver under their Frisco yellow on the diesels and like wise
I have done that for years...the black shells...well unless you are going to
paint it black also, the white is a must as a primer...and if you are going to
paint red you gotta use white, it will take a ton of red paint to otherwise
cover a black shell.
