Okay ... Before this subject gets out of hand.
I belong to both the NMRA - MER - Susquehanna Division and the NASG and the
Lehigh Valley S Gaugers 1962.
I've never understood how we in S can operate our organization for a lousy
$20.00 bucks a year? (and yet we have many on this list and otherwise who won't
spend the twenty bucks!)
My NMRA plus Association dues for 2009 are $64.00 and the NMRA is going to
raise that because of economic reasons. Plus they are going to cut their
splendid Scale Rails magazine back 20 some pages to save money. They say they
are hurting! What makes the NMRA so special that they can't operate on $20.00
bucks a year like we do?
Regarding secret meetings and all the other gripes about our organization ....
Folks we ain't never had it so good, believe me and I've been at this since
1960.
For those that don't like what is going on, elections are coming up, we would
like to see seven or eight volunteers at each election open spot!
Sure would make Jamie happy! Heck several years ago a disgruntled member was
screaming at Jamie because he didn't get the ballots out on time! WOW! Get
that, someone screaming, cursing at a volunteer, like this is all Jamie has to
do. Jamie has a beautiful wife, three lovely children, is a school teacher
[which can be hair raising in itself,] trying to be a father to all, and is
modeling in our S scale. So, go figure .... he gets hollered at!
This list at times gets like "Ground Hog Day" ... So darn redundant it is
unbelievable!
It is Christmas time to you believers out there, get the kids and go run your
trains!
Please stop the griping! We ain't ever had it Sooooooo Goooood!
Merry Christmas!
LOve and Hershey Kisses to all,
Bill Fraley
