(If this suggestion has been made, sorry....I'd tuned out this topic, but
now must speak)
I suggest that the next NASG host look to the National NG Conventions and
Sn3 Symposiums....Very Successful
It allows manufacturers to enjoy layouts too....Here is the format...Every
day....

Morning (8am-12am) - Clinics and Manufacturing room...
Afternoon (1pm-5pm) - All layouts open, self driven
Evening (6pm-10pm) - Clinics and Manufacturing room...

o Admitted it is a late night for manufacturers....
o Having layouts open every day is hard on layout owners, but ensures
that everyone can view without long lines. A late arriving attendee
can still see a few layouts that they like...
o Drive your own, lets everyone see the layouts they want to see
(personally if I go to a NASG event, I'd want to see S-scale, Sn3,
Sn2, or High Rail layouts or other prototype based layouts
    in
o It lets convention goers leave the event and eat along the way

On last day, there is a "meeting" in the evening, not a big Banquet
Cost is low, no Banquet, no layout tours, simply $70ish to attend.
Usually $25 for one day or similar.
Host city is not hosting to make money...Although they usually do.
I know that Cincinnati donated its money to NG tourist RR.

NG Conventions are usually Wed Afternoon-Saturday
Symposiums aer usually Thursday evening - Saturday
