Bert,

NYC's T&OC subsidiary had 15 of these, numbers 9732-9746. A photo of 9744 is
at <http://www.canadasouthern.com/caso/images/t&oc-9744.jpg> (I doubt the 1936
date, as the T&OC lettering came off the tenders in 1927). There was a listing
of all USRA engines at <http://www.steamlocomotive.com/misc/usra.html> but the
link was dead when I just tried it.

Since you are doing the WV area, the T&OC engine would be very appropriate, as
that was T&OC (and subsidiary Kanawaha & Michigan) territory - to complicate
this more, the line you are looking at was actually shared between the C&O and
Kanawha & West Virginia - the K&WV was a subsidiary of the K&M which was
controlled by the T&OC which was controlled and later leased by NYC.

NYC diagram books are at <http://rr-fallenflags.org/nyc/nyc-eng.html>. These
should help you determine other NYC series of USRA 2-8-2s, but as I said, the
T&OC engines would be more appropriate for your area. I would really like to
see one of the five K&M 2-8-2T engines done in model form. This is definitely
not an USRA engine <http://www.railarchive.net/nyccollection/km9501.htm>.
