I installed a Tsunami in my Reading 2-8-0 and at first placed the speaker
in the tender. I
noticed right away that I could tell the sound was no right. It was okay if I
was many feet
away but not up close. I have since replaced the tender speaker with a boiler
weight/speaker enclosure. I and am now building more boiler weight/speaker
enclosures. I've posted photos
of two of them in the photos album at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/album/965792248/pic/list

which is Rustys models. The Reading 2-8-0 sounds a lot better now. I make up a
brass tube
from sheet and fill it with low temp white metal, I cut a slot for the wires
in the side, drill and
tap two holes for mounting in the boiler, paint it green and glue the
Soundtraxx speaker in
the end pointing at the stack. The sound is where it should be.
The units in the photo have a speaker at each end so there are 2 speakers
per weight. I
have no idea if this will be better or a total waste of time to add two
speakers.
