To the CEO's or whatever title you give your selfs of SHS, AM & DPH and other S
makers who have their great stuff made in China, Korea etc.
I recentley read in Model Railroad News and now in the latest Dispatch about
how the big Chinese molding firm was giving you the boot after all the work you
gave them. Seems they got too big for their bitches and do not want your
business anymore.
Now I do not know Jack Crap about the molding business, but I think that even
though they made the stuff for you at their plants, you still own the tooling
and dies and other things to make what you sell to us.
In these rough financial times, I would think that there has to be a plastics
company here in the US that would welcome your work.
It has always seems strange to me that stuff designed by you could not be made
here in the US giving US workers jobs instead of sending it over seas to people
who have no idea about model railroading. To them it is just business, not
their life and blood, not S model railroaders making stuff for S model
railroaders. I really can NOT believe that American workers can not provide the
quality and workmanship that we desire.
As far as I know, KD makes their couplers here, maybe their Micro-Trains here,
how come your stuff can not.
A couple of years back, a company tried to bring out a new line of S track that
would semi-please AF,Hi-rail and MAYBE some others. I was previlged to see
their drawings for thier turnouts and even ordered 2. The flex track is really
flexible and the metal DOES NOT have to be cleaned even running under DCC
power. I urged tem to have the stuff made here in the US, but NOO!, too
expensive (over $800,000 for six basic pieces to startout with). Well they went
Chinese (becuase it was suppose to be cheaper), the molders screwed up their
design of their turnout and would not re-do it. The final price to the buyers
went thru the roof.
I gotta believe that the shipping cost from the far east to here for the amount
you have made must be really biting into your bottom line.
I read in MRN, DPH saw this coming & went some place else already, so this idea
of you all getting together and mabe setting up a "Terminal Molding Company USA
LLC" is dead before it starts, but I gotta ask.
You are all smart business men else you would not be were your now.
I am going to make an assumtion, that you are all know each other and might be
able to work together if you should try to see if this would "roll".

Strongly thinking about purchasing Fast-Trac S #5 Turnout templates for code
