I was contemplating entering a diorama depicting that famous accident where
a streamlined NYC Hudson rammed broadside into a PRR GG-1 and demolished it.

Could those Hudsons run that fast????? The G's were built from real steel.

How about a scene where they're "stringing" new cantenary over an electrified
ection of NYC trackage, with official SHABBONA RR power string?

Now that the Duluth convention has concluded, we can turn our attention
toward "S"acto for next year. Several new and unique events are planned
which will be announced gradually over time. The first announcement was our
official convention car which is, as we all know by now, made in America.
It caused so much commotion that the Moderators had to shut the conversation
down. So moving right along.......we are now announcing the next special
 event of the "S"acto convention.

As the subject line above states, there is a $200 award for the winner of
the NYC-only Contest being run under the auspices of Dick Karnes. Ask Dick
for the rules if you are curious. He will zip them right out to you upon
request. The $200 award is in the form of a gift certificate to a
well-stocked hobby shop in the northern California area. Yes, they do mail
order. And, they can order most anything you want if it is not in stock.

Hopefully, this will motivate many of you to work towards a winning entry.
Bill Lane had a really neat idea with a lot of humor attached. His entry
could actually be entered in both the NYC-only Contest and the new Operating
Accessory Contest. Perhaps Bill will win two awards. Time will tell.
Would it be fair for a PRR type of guy to actually win a NYC contest?
Interestingly, two of the three judges for the NYC-only Contest are avid and
acknowledged Pennsy Freaks who have promised to remain unbiased. Oh
 yeah.... We'll see about that.

Only one problem with that concept -- I cannot find any reference to it in
the history books. Darn.... But my research will continue.

 See you in "S"acto...Ed L.
