This week at SHS…

Mike and I have returned from this years NASG National Convention held
in Minneapolis/Duluth. What a GREAT time. There were some really
great layout and prototype tours. Meeting old friends and making new
is part of our fun. I am sorry for all of those who missed this
wonderful annual event.

Letter from Kader Industries….

On June 14th, we received a letter from the parent company of Sanda
Kan, our builder in Hong Kong. The CEO, Ivan Ting, explained that
Sanda Kan was reorganizing and that they would not be accepting new
purchase orders, but all existing purchase orders would be filled. As
you could imagine, this was an unexpected shock to all of us. A few
phone calls later, we discovered that 59 other clients had also
received this letter and only 20 accounts were to be kept. We are now
exploring other possibilities and trying to determine exactly when our
new fishbelly hoppers will be completed.

Next container in port….

The shipment from our builder arrived in port on Friday with our new
reefers and rebuilt boxcars. A new unannounced roadname of rebuilt
boxcar is included, the Southern Pacific. These were first offered
for the 2010 S West. We will have #2 thru #4 with this shipment. We
still have Nickel Plate Road boxcars. The SAL, GN boxcars as well as
the Baby Ruth reefers were announced as sold out, but one of our
dealers has gone out of business so we have a very few left. The
boxcars can be ordered at:

10” and #00257 15” straight track, Andrews and PRR 2D-F8 trucks.

We now have in stock a shipment of 1/64th scale (item #32305) Great
Northern Railway Motor Freight White/Freightliner COE Tractor w/
replica 40’ Refrigerated Trailer. These sold well at the convention
and are quite colorful. To learn more about them check our home page
